This article provides an overview of how to add and publish images to your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn posts.
You can publish images with your FB post in two ways:
A scraped image is an image taken from the HTML content you are promoting. If you are including a link in your FB post, you can include a scraped image from that link. If there is more than one image in the content you are promoting, Kapost will allow you to choose which image to use. See example here:
NOTE: the link in your FB post must point to some sort of HTML content like a blog post or web page. It is not possible to scrape images from a PDF. So if you are promoting a PDF asset, you will need to use a custom image.
If you have no link in your FB post, do have a link but don't want to use a scraped image, or the link you are including in your FB post points to non-HTML content, then you can click on the blue Add Photo button to add a custom image to your post. See example here:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the way Facebook works, you MUST add your custom image BEFORE adding any links in the body of your FB post.
If you are including a link in your LinkedIn post, you can include a scraped image from that link. It works just like the FB example above.
NOTE: the link in your LinkedIn post must point to some sort of HTML content like a blog post or web page. It is not possible to scrape images from a PDF.
You can add an image to LinkedIn using the "add media" button under the text field. For best results, use media under 5 MB.
Note: LinkedIn does not allow users to edit posts after they have been published. If you republish to LinkedIn, it will appear as a new post.
You can only publish images with your Tweets through "custom images:"
This is not supported by Twitter.
To add a custom image to your Tweet, you can click on the blue Add Photo button. This works just like the FB example above though it is possible to add an image after adding the link.
